'The People's Club'

Everton in The Community is regarded as one of the most forward thinking and innovative community schemes in the United Kingdom.

EiTC began operating in 1988 and in June 2004, EiTC became a registered charitable company (no.1099366).

With Everton as the main sponsor, EiTC is governed by a board of trustees that is made up of a balance between Everton Football Club officials and local independent non-Everton staff.

Everton in The Community has gone from strength to strength in recent years with a number of pioneering projects.

Our vision is:

'To motivate, educate and inspire by harnessing the power of football and sport, improving the quality of the lives of all within our community, locally and regionally.'

Main Activity Areas:

Schools Based Development Activities
We offer many services to all schools within and around the Merseyside area (Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, Halton, Wirral & West Lancs). The most recognised project is the Healthy Schools Bus.

The ground breaking initiative, the first of its kind in the country, aims to raise awareness among Merseyside schoolchildren of the benefits of healthy eating and an active lifestyle.

Disability Awareness and Empowerment
Everton are one the world leaders in providing football for disabled people. In 2008 Everton in the Community were awarded a quarter of a million pounds to develop its existing disabled football programme.

From the unique mental health football programme to the successful competitive football team structure, EiTC’s disability programme is quite rightly envied.

Socially Inclusive Activities
EiTC aims to help those who are affected by homelessness, old age, drug and alcohol misuse, as well as providing socially inclusive activities for asylum seekers and refugees towards a goal of crime prevention and reducing anti-social behaviour.

The award winning Kickz programme is one initiative created to reduce anti-social behaviour in Liverpool through the tool of football.
EiTC’s social inclusion programmes provide increased opportunity to disadvantaged people through the provision of combined sports and educational activity.

Everton in Shanghai

Everton became the first English Premier League club to introduce a grassroots disability football programme to China.

In April 2008, Everton in the Community formed the Everton in Shanghai partnership to deliver a three-year coach education programme designed to develop disability football in the province and nationwide.

EiTC disability coaches have taken up residence in Shanghai to teach the grassroots scheme over the next three years.

Women and Girls Development
EiTC aim to develop females' participation in the game of football at all ages and levels, and have a dedicated development officer in this area.

EiTC organise girls only soccer camps, and also run a number of competitive teams for various age groups, leading up to the Everton Ladies team, who compete in the FA Women's Premier League.
